Artists Appearing at Morecambe Gospel Bayfest 2022

Live Issue

Live Issue has informally become the ‘resident band’ at Morecambe Gospel Bayfest as they have been at all our weekends since 2017. Live Issue literally made history in Nashville by becoming the first country band from Ireland, and only the second group from the British Isles, to perform on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.

Live Issue comprises of Colin Elliott, Roy Dreaning, Sam Armstrong, Carl Sands and Ivan McLernon. Although the group still plays at many events in Northern Ireland, they are also regularly found performing at concerts and conventions throughout the British Isles and parts of Europe.
‘New Christian Music’ named Live Issue as ‘Artist of the Year’ for four consecutive years in the Country Gospel category and in 2014 the group was awarded “Country Band of the Year” in the Northern Ireland Gospel Music Awards. In 2016 ‘The Irish Connection Radio Show’ presented the group with a special award in recognition of their contribution to County and Gospel music in Ireland.

Live Issue have recorded four studio albums and in 2018, the group hosted their own television series called 'Live Issue & Friends' for Revelation TV. This was very well received and the series is available to view on YouTube and on their website.

Live Issue is continually in demand, not only for their musical and singing ability but also for their warmth, humility, sense of humour and Christian faith. This is clear both in their music and to anyone who has had the opportunity to see the group play live.

Kathryn Mitchell

Kathryn Mitchell is recognised as one of Northern Ireland’s most talented female vocalists in Gospel music. Her voice has both country and soulful qualities that combine to communicate the Gospel message directly to each person in an audience.

Kathryn is originally from County Armagh and it was at the age of 18 that she became a Christian. A short time later she was asked to sing at a Gospel meeting and since then Kathryn has been in regular demand throughout the length and breadth of Ireland and the UK. Her recordings have been a tremendous source of encouragement to many people. Her album entitled, 'Faithful' was voted Country Gospel Album of the Year in 2014.

Looking back at her years serving God through music ministry, Kathryn said, “There have been many mountain top experiences but also many valley experiences but the Lord has walked each step of the way with me as He has promised in His word.”

Kathryn is married to Alan and they have 4 children.  It is Kathryn’s prayer to see people come to the Lord and Christians encouraged through her songs. This is also Kathryn’s first time to Morecambe and we are very pleased that she has been able to be part of the programme this year.

The Ayrtons

A Lancashire hill farming family, the Ayrtons need little or no introduction to those from the North West of England who follow Gospel music. Brothers Robert, Raymond and Paul, together with Raymond’s wife, Rachel, bring to us a repertoire of Gospel favourites that will leave you in no doubt about their commitment to the Lord. We are delighted that the Ayrtons can join us once again for Morecambe Gospel Bayfest for another year.

Peter Mander

As well as being a member of Revelation, Peter Mander is a well-established Gospel singer and musician in his own right. Peter has been involved in Christian music for many years and has sung throughout the UK on a regular basis. Peter was also a member of the well-known group, Pathway, before joining Revelation and he loves the opportunity to share his Christian faith wherever he is invited to sing.

Roy Dreaning and Colin Elliott will be our hosts for the Morecambe Gospel Bayfest weekend. Both Roy and Colin have a wealth of experience, not only as part of Live Issue, but also from being well-established solo artists in their own right.

Roy ministers in three churches in County Fermanagh, as well as hosting a very popular online ministry with his wife, Lorna.

Colin tours regularly in a solo capacity and with other artists, as well as producing many albums for Christian artists from Northern Ireland, mainland UK and America.

Both Roy and Colin hosted the Revelation TV programme, 'Live Issue & Friends' back in 2018 and have also individually hosted Morecambe Gospel Bayfest in recent years.
