Following discussions with the organisers of Morecambe Gospel Bayfest, Lancaster City Council has kindly updated its entrance restrictions for this year’s event.  It is important that everyone wishing to attend is able to, while at the same time ensuring that the risk of COVID-19 transmission is kept to an absolute minimum.

For entrance to the Platform Theatre all audience members will require ONE of the following:

1) Proof of being fully vaccinated – two jabs – ideally using the NHS Covid pass app. If  you are travelling from a region such as Northern Ireland where vaccine passes are only issued for international travel, then the Vaccination Card issued at the time of your injections or a letter from your GP will be accepted. You will be given a wristband to facilitate easy access to the theatre throughout the weekend.

If you are fully vaccinated, you will not be required to provide evidence of a Lateral Flow test, however, it is recommended you do one of these at home before you leave for the theatre or alternatively, you may avail of the testing facility in Morecambe as detailed below. Lateral Flow tests are freely available at all chemists.

2) If you cannot supply evidence of full vaccination, you should go to the testing centre in Morecambe Town Hall on the afternoon of Friday 24th September and do a Lateral Flow test. If you test negative and inform the staff that you are part of the audience at the Platform Theatre, they will also provide you with the same entrance wristband.

The testing centre is located at Golf House, Marine Rd E, Morecambe LA4 5AF. This will be open until 4.00pm on Friday and between 10am – 12noon on Saturday 25th September.

Please note that a lateral flow test taken on Friday 24th September will cover you throughout the weekend and for all events. You will NOT be required to take another test on Saturday or Sunday.

3) If you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days prior to the event, you will be admitted to the Platform Theatre as long as evidence of this can be provided. Once again, you will receive the same wristband as everyone else.

It is recommended that everyone attending brings some form of photographic ID with them and a document confirming your address.

Face coverings should be worn when entering and leaving the theatre and removed when seated. They may need to be worn at other times if required by the management of the theatre.

There will be hand sanitiser stations throughout the theatre.
